Over the years persistent ideas gathered, grew, and connected themselves in ways that put me in awe. I experienced why other writers would speak of a muse, and the ideas coming from another source. Sticky notes were my friends, and I lived by one rule: Write it down- whenever, wherever, and on whatever.
Once everything was transcribed I was able to organize the chaos and rope it into a story with structure. It's taken years of work, persistence, and patience, and it will all be worth it when I can finally share it with you. The first thing I wanted to be when I "grew up" was a writer. I produced my first few children's books from scrap paper, markers, and pens, and loved subjects like AP Lit in high school. In university I studied Business and Biology to learn about the world, and psychology and philosophy to learn about the mind and metaphysics.
As story idea, and the desire to write increased I knew I needed more experience and knowledge to get the ideas out at their best. So I did my own review of classic literature and retro sci-fi, all while brushing up on my writing craft. My favorite part was when this current story pushed me to learn about Cosmology and Quantum Physics!
I've always been interested in learning- about people and identity, about the universe and existence. What better way than to write books about all of it?
Living with Lupus and other chronic conditions has been full of challenging obstacles, not only to every aspect of daily life, but to writing. It may be pointed out that struggle enriches creativity, but I can tell you it's not worth it!
Although the delays in project developments have been disheartening, the eventual advancements have been even more invigorating.
The strategy that works for me is to just keep writing things down when I can, working on a few passages at a time when I'm having an okay day, or diving all-in for hours on those rare good days (my absolute favorite). As long as there is progress, there is success.
